Buttermilk Pie (my 2nd fav)


Another ridiculously simple but also ridiculously delicious pie! Not icky sweet and very cheesecake-ish like? I don’t know. Freaking amazing.

Makes 1 pie

Preheat oven to 425. Turn down to 325 when you put the pie in. You may need to protect the edges with foil.

1 stick of real, unsalted butter, melted. Do this now, then it will be ready after you measure everything else.

1 1/2 cups buttermilk

3 large eggs

1 cup of raw sugar or regular sugar

3 Tablespoons flour

1 Tbsp lemon juice or zest if available

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Mix all together.

Pour into prepared crust.

Bake for about 45 minutes. Keep an eye on it when it starts smelling amazing! Don’t be afraid to make a foil tent for it if the edges start looking too dark.

Let cool completely
