QUIT BUYING BROWNIE MIX!!!
It's so fast and easy to make your own mix, and you can eliminate the crappy extra stuff. You can choose the ingredients that you approve of!
I don't know how many batches this makes. Sorry. I don't even know where this came from! I've been loving this for a looooooong time.
TIME TO SHARE!

Use your stand mix for this. It's even easier and it gets so well mixed! Try it!
BASE RECIPE
  • 3 cups flour
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2 cups cocoa
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
Mix it all up and put it in a container!

HOW TO MAKE BROWNIES
  • 2 1/4 cups brownie mix
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: pecans! Just measure with your heart!
Mix it up.
Will be thick.
Spread in a greased 8x8 pan
Bake 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 min til there is no jiggle in the middle

***I don't know about swapping this for that so don't count on me there... haha!!

Perfect for quick fixes when you have a full house or just to share during a movie!!

Jane's Easy to Make Kettle Corn

I'm not sure what the actual rules are or the 'definition' of kettle corn is... but this is how I do it.

1/2 cup popcorn
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4-1/2 cup sugar
salt at the end

Use a sauce pot with a lid
Add the coconut oil to the pot and turn the burner to medium low to medium heat
Add the popcorn.
Add the sugar.
Mix it up really good.
Put the lid on.

Listen for the first pop!
Lift the pot, hold the lid, shake it.
Put it back on the burner.
Repeat, repeat, repeat until no more popping.

Dump it out onto a sheet pan with sides. Sprinkle with salt.
I leave mine alone to be clumpy, but if you want, just move it around to not allow it to clump.

Evelyn Jane here... the blog started as a way to have some recipes always available for my children when they left home and wanted to cook some of their favs. Then I added some farm topics, then I started selling soap to stores and wanted a way for them to have all the information they wanted plus printable graphics. So now, it's a pretty diverse space of topics, but it's also 100% me. I am a soap maker, but also a small farmer of goats and chickens, a gardener, a cook, baker, sewist, crafter, reader, a business owner, naturalist, herbalist... I happily wear a lot of hats!

I hope you find some topics that you enjoy here!
